The Inspection

For this Woodbridge home, we began by removing 228 sq ft of aging decking. After clearing the surface, our team inspected the joists and rim joists to identify any compromised areas and determine the reinforcements needed to support a modern, durable deck.

The Process

Our goal was to build a durable and visually appealing outdoor space. We reinforced the structure by adding new 2x8 joists between the existing ones, reducing spacing to about 12 inches on center and securing everything with metal hangers and galvanized bolts. Once strengthened, we installed 228 sq ft of #2 pressure-treated pine decking, fastened with exterior wood screws for a flush, secure, and long-lasting surface.
