The Inspection
For this Alexandria project, the existing wooden deck showed clear signs of aging that affected both safety and appearance. After evaluating the 250 sq ft surface and stairs, we determined that while the main joists could be preserved, the decking boards, top railings, and stair stringers needed full replacement to restore durability and long-term performance.
The Process
We restored the deck using high-quality materials for a durable, classic wood finish. Our team installed 250 sq ft of #2 pressure-treated pine decking, secured with exterior wood screws for a flush, stable surface. We also replaced 73 linear feet of top railing to improve safety and appearance, and rebuilt the stairs with new 2x12 stringers and 2x6 risers for a solid, secure transition. This approach ensures a cohesive look and long-lasting durability.
