The Inspection
For this project in Fairfax, VA, we began by removing the existing 84-square-foot deck surface to perform a deep structural audit. The Process
We installed new premium #2 pressure-treated pine decking boards (2” x 6”) using high-performance #9 x 3” star-drive wood deck screws for a secure and durable finish. To give the deck a contemporary and high-end look, we integrated the Prowood railing system. This custom setup features pressure-treated wood posts and top rails paired with sleek black metal pickets, creating a sophisticated contrast. Every structural component, from the 2x10 beams to the 2x8 joists, was carefully selected and installed to ensure maximum longevity and resistance to the Virginia climate.
The Result
The final result is a complete revitalization of this 14′ x 6′ outdoor space.
