The Inspection
Upon inspecting the property in Manassas, we focused on the back area of the bump out where the existing exterior had sustained noticeable damage. It was crucial not only to remove the compromised siding but also to evaluate the structural integrity beneath it. We carefully dismantled the old layers and identified areas of damaged wood that required immediate attention to prevent future moisture issues and ensure a solid, lasting foundation for the new installation.
The Process
To provide a long-lasting and weather-resistant solution, we executed a comprehensive repair and upgrade strategy, starting with the restoration of up to 32 sq ft of damaged wood to guarantee a structurally sound and secure base before any cosmetic work began. We then installed a premium housewrap to create a vital moisture barrier that protects the existing wood structure from future weather damage and drafts. Finally, we fitted new 4-inch double lap Ply Gem Mastic Ovation vinyl siding in the elegant 'Linen' color, which, combined with its authentic woodgrain texture, instantly elevated the home's curb appeal while ensuring exceptional durability and low maintenance for years to come.
