The Inspection
The project began with a thorough assessment of a screened deck featuring seven standard openings (approximately 72” W x 96” H) and six trapezoid openings at the top front section. The existing screen panels were evaluated for removal, and the structural integrity of the deck was confirmed to support the upcoming modifications and new installations.
The Process
The team removed the old screen panels from all openings and installed porch conversion window systems per manufacturer’s specs for a weather-tight fit. Custom window units or fixed glazing were added to the trapezoid openings, and five posts were wrapped with PVC trim for a clean look. All areas were sealed and caulked to ensure durability and a polished finish.
The Result
The completed project transformed the screened deck into a functional and visually appealing space, significantly improving its usability year-round. The installation of high-quality window systems and the professional finishing of the posts resulted in a cohesive look that aligns with the exterior trim. The project not only enhanced the overall appearance but also ensured durability and comfort for future use.
