The Inspection
Upon initial review, it was determined that the right side of the house required comprehensive siding replacement, covering 78 square feet. Additionally, the rear frieze board, spanning 23 linear feet, was in need of replacement. The French door also showed signs of wear and needed restoration.
The Process
The renovation started with removing siding panels and nails from the right side, followed by evaluating and replacing the house wrap. New James Hardie siding panels, rake trims, and a vent cover were installed. The frieze and upper boards were replaced with white PVC boards, sealed with OSI Caulking. The French door restoration included screen and threshold removal, door adjustment, aluminum capping, and a fresh coat of white paint on both sides.
The Result
The project ended with new siding on the house’s right side, improving both appearance and durability. Weather-resistant white PVC boards now enhance the rear frieze area. The restored French door, with a new threshold and aluminum capping, offers better functionality and a fresh look. All areas were sealed and painted, giving the home a high-quality finish and boosting its curb appeal.
