Successful Sunroom Posts Replacement

The Inspection

A comprehensive evaluation of the existing sunroom revealed the necessity for foundational reinforcement. Five concrete footings with deteriorated wood posts were identified as compromised, undermining the structural integrity of the space.

The Process

The project commenced with the installation of temporary supports to secure the sunroom. Subsequently, the old concrete footings and rotten wood posts were meticulously excavated and removed. New footings were dug to precise specifications, each 36 inches deep and 18 inches wide. High Strength Concrete was poured into these footings to establish a robust base. Finally, five new 6" x 6" Pressure Treated Pine #2 posts were erected atop the footings. These were securely connected to the existing double beam using through bolts or Trulocks, ensuring a solid, enduring framework.

The Result

The sunroom’s foundation has been successfully upgraded with the installation of five new, sturdy posts and footings, enhancing both the stability and longevity of the structure. The use of High Strength Concrete and Pressure Treated Pine #2 wood ensures the sunroom is well-supported and resistant to environmental stressors. This meticulous process has revitalized the sunroom, providing a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for years to come.
