The Process
The transformation began with the excavation and compaction of the 20' x 20' patio footprint. To ensure maximum structural durability, we installed a framework of #4 rebar and 6x6x10 wire mesh before pouring a high-strength Portland cement mix. While the concrete cured, we executed a key change order under the deck area: laying down professional-grade weed barrier fabric followed by a decorative and functional layer of river rock to facilitate proper drainage. Once the patio surface was flattened and dried, we meticulously washed and sealed the concrete to protect its finish against the elements.
The Result
The final result is a beautiful 400-square-foot stamped concrete patio that serves as a versatile outdoor retreat in Chantilly. The integration of the river rock drainage system under the deck not only solves a functional moisture issue but also adds a clean, finished look to the entire backyard.
