The Inspection
For this 324 sq ft project in Herndon, our team inspected the pressure-treated deck to determine the best restoration approach. We evaluated the wood condition, identified areas needing sanding for even stain absorption, and planned protection for the surrounding surfaces—ensuring optimal conditions for a durable, professional finish.
The Process
The process began with a controlled 1500 PSI power wash to remove dirt and residue without damaging the wood. After 24 hours of drying, we sanded the surface with 120–150 grit to improve stain absorption.
Once protected, we applied two coats of a premium semi-transparent oil-based stain using sprayers, rollers, and brushes for full coverage. This ensures a durable, moisture-resistant finish with strong UV protection while enhancing the natural wood grain.
The Result
The final result is a beautifully restored deck that looks brand new and is fully protected against the elements. The semi-transparent finish provides a rich, consistent color that enhances the backyard’s aesthetic while ensuring the wood remains resilient for years to come.
