Renovating a Porch with New Columns
The Inspection
The initial assessment revealed the need for replacement of porch columns to enhance structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. The project scope included the installation of two new Permacast columns, each measuring 12 inches in width and 8 feet in height, along with their respective Tuscan caps and bases.
The Process
The process commenced with the installation of provisional 4"x4" support posts to ensure safety and stability throughout the renovation. Following this, the left column was upgraded with a new fluted round Permacast column and a Tuscan cap and base set. Attention then shifted to the right column, where the existing structure was carefully dismantled. A matching fluted round Permacast column was installed, complete with a Tuscan cap and base set, ensuring symmetry and consistency in design.
The Result
The completion of the project resulted in a significant enhancement of the porch’s structural support and visual sophistication. The new 12-inch wide, 8-foot high fluted round Permacast columns, adorned with Tuscan caps and bases, provided a high-quality finish that elevated the overall appearance of the property. The meticulous installation process and the use of durable materials ensured a lasting improvement that combined both elegance and resilience.
