The Inspection
The project involved a comprehensive assessment of the exterior window trims at this Fairfax, VA property, which included a total of 10 windows distributed across three sides of the house. The existing wood trims were showing signs of wear and deterioration, necessitating a complete replacement to enhance durability and aesthetics.
The Process
The scope of work included the replacement of approximately 60 wood trim pieces with high-quality PVC trims. On the right side of the house, trims for three windows were replaced, including specific sections for each window. The left side required full trim replacement for one window and additional work next to the downspout. The rear side of the house involved replacing trims around eight window sections, excluding one behind a pergola, along with the replacement of outside corners. Flashing tape was applied in all necessary areas to ensure optimal protection against moisture.
The Result
The project was successfully completed, resulting in a durable and visually appealing finish that enhances the overall integrity of the home. The transition from wood to PVC trims not only improves the longevity of the window surrounds but also minimizes future maintenance needs. The meticulous execution of this project reflects a commitment to quality craftsmanship and attention to detail, ensuring that the property is well-protected and aesthetically pleasing for years to come.
