The Inspection
For this driveway project in Washington, D.C., our team assessed the 399 sq ft gravel area and evaluated subsoil conditions to determine proper excavation depth. We also analyzed the natural grading to plan a 1-inch-per-4-feet slope, ensuring effective drainage and preventing future erosion or water accumulation.
The Process
The construction began with removing the existing gravel and excavating to the proper depth for vehicle loads. We installed wood forms and a compacted #57 gravel base to prevent settling and cracking.
We then poured 4000 PSI fiber-reinforced concrete across the 399 sq ft area, finished with a broom texture for slip resistance and control joints for durability. The project was completed with a clear sealant to protect against stains and weather, ensuring a long-lasting and clean finish.
The Result
The final result is a clean, modern, and structurally superior concrete driveway that significantly enhances the property’s accessibility and curb appeal in Washington, D.C. The use of fiber-reinforced concrete and professional sealing ensures this installation will withstand heavy daily use for years to come.
