The Inspection
For this property in Washington, DC, our team conducted a thorough inspection to prepare the home's exterior for a complete visual refresh. We identified the need to carefully detach and remove existing metal window security bars from seven windows and one door, noting that all anchoring holes required proper patching to ensure a watertight surface. Furthermore, through an updated scope of work, we identified an accumulation of old wood timbers on the backside of the property that required complete removal and disposal to provide a clean, safe, and fully prepped environment for the restoration.
The Process
The project began with site cleanup, demolition, and the safe removal of metal security bars and debris. After repairing anchoring holes and preparing all surfaces, we applied a high-quality exterior primer to ensure proper paint adhesion. The home was then finished with two coats of Sherwin-Williams SW 6244 Naval in a Satin finish, along with premium coatings for the brick accents and aluminum window trim, creating a durable and refreshed exterior.
The Result
The Washington, DC residence now features a beautifully restored and painted exterior that dramatically boosts its curb appeal. By removing outdated security features, clearing out unsightly backyard debris, and applying high-performance Sherwin-Williams products, we delivered a modern, watertight, and fully rejuvenated home exterior. If you are exploring ideas for your home and looking for reliable custom outdoor living contractors in Washington, DC, this project is a perfect example of what can be achieved.
