The Inspection
The project involved a comprehensive evaluation of a deck requiring significant upgrades to its railing system. The existing horizontal and stair wood railing panels, along with 4”x4” posts, were assessed for structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. The end joist along the perimeter of the deck was also inspected for necessary replacement.
The Process
The 90-foot project involved removing old wood railings and posts, reinforcing the structure with new pressure-treated pine joists and 4”x4” posts for the deck and stairs. Vinyl posts, sleeves, bases, and caps were added for a modern look. Veranda railing panels were installed—74 feet on the deck and 16 on the stairs—and a new white PVC fascia board was placed around the rim and end joists.

The completed project resulted in a structurally sound and visually appealing deck railing system.
