Building A Durable And Inviting Front Porch

The Inspection

The project began with an assessment of the existing porch, followed by the removal of concrete and flagstone steps while protecting nearby siding, windows, and landscaping.

The Process

The renovation included installing concrete pier foundations, pressure-treated framing, and a 4-inch concrete landing pad. Three 6x6 posts were wrapped with Versatex PVC, and the porch was finished with TimberTech Advanced or Trex Transcend decking and five new steps. A painted wood railing system was installed, and the roof was framed with 2x8 lumber and completed with a GAF Timberline HDZ shingle roof, aluminum gutters, and downspouts.

The Result

The project resulted in a modern, durable front porch using high-quality materials for long-lasting, low-maintenance performance. Recessed ceiling lighting adds functionality, creating a welcoming outdoor space that enhances the home’s exterior and meets industry standards.
