The Inspection
The project commenced with a thorough inspection of the existing structural components, revealing critical issues including an improperly installed 5” gutter that caused overflow, rotting porch beams and columns, and a compromised ceiling. These findings necessitated a comprehensive renovation to enhance both functionality and aesthetics.
The Process
The renovation included replacing the old gutter with a new 6” K-style system, adding aluminum drip edges for moisture protection, and replacing rotted porch beams and a column. Structural reinforcements were made with new rafters and joists. The old ceiling was removed and upgraded with T-11 wood panels (18′ × 8′). All new elements were primed and painted white to match the home’s design.
The Result
The project successfully addressed all identified issues, resulting in enhanced structural integrity and improved aesthetic appeal. The new installations not only provide better functionality but also contribute to the longevity of the structure, ensuring a safe and visually pleasing environment for years to come.
