The Inspection
The existing concrete driveway at this Arlington property required extensive surface preparation due to loose, scaling, and peeling concrete layers. We identified structural cracks that needed routing and cleaning out to remove trapped dirt, organic material, and debris, ensuring proper bonding for the repair compounds. Furthermore, the client identified two specific hairline cracks that required a specialized, localized assessment.
The Process
To restore the driveway's structural integrity and appearance, we thoroughly pressure-washed the entire 985 sq. ft. surface to remove contaminants and ensure proper adhesion. All structural cracks were repaired with a high-performance patching compound, while two client-identified hairline cracks received an additional localized coat of concrete sealer, with the understanding that spot treatments may create slight finish variations and cannot guarantee against future cracking. Finally, we applied a premium polymer-modified concrete resurfacer and re-cut the existing control joints to help relieve stress and minimize random cracking.
The Result
The completed 985 sq. ft. driveway now boasts a clean, uniform broom-finish that provides an institutional-grade, slip-resistant texture perfect for regular vehicular traffic. By addressing the overall concrete substrate and executing precise crack mitigation strategies, we delivered a revitalized, highly durable entrance.
