The Inspection
For this project in Herndon, VA, the homeowner required a clean and reliable pathway to enhance the accessibility of their property. We began by excavating a 50' x 4' area, totaling 200 square feet, to establish a solid foundation. Our team focused on precision grading and subsoil compaction, ensuring the ground was perfectly leveled to prevent future shifting or sinking, providing a stable base that exceeds standard residential requirements.
The Process
To guarantee a long-lasting result, we poured 4000 PSI high-strength concrete, specifically chosen for its durability and resistance to local weather conditions. We meticulously set a slight slope during the pouring process to ensure efficient water drainage away from the home's foundation. The surface was finished with a professional broom texture to provide essential slip resistance, and expansion joints were cut every 10 feet to manage natural ground movement. Finally, we applied a premium concrete sealer to protect the surface from moisture and staining, ensuring the walkway stays pristine for years.
The Result
The completed 200-square-foot walkway provides a safe, modern, and visually appealing transition that significantly boosts the home’s curb appeal. By combining structural engineering with a clean aesthetic finish, we delivered a durable solution that requires minimal maintenance.
