The Inspection
The project at this Springfield, VA property involved the construction of a concrete platform measuring 15′ x 16′ and the installation of a shed of the same dimensions, with a height of 8′. Initial assessments were conducted to evaluate subsoil conditions, ensuring a solid foundation for the concrete work.
The Process
The project began with batter boards setup, excavation, and soil compaction. Wood frames were placed, followed by pea gravel and poured concrete, which was smoothed, cured, cleaned, and sealed.
For the shed, new sole plates were installed in the 15′ x 16′ area. A deck storage frame was built with SPF lumber and covered with 4′ x 8′ plywood sheets. Waterproof house wrap was applied, and a single door with an electronic knob was installed. PlyGem Mastic vinyl siding, chosen by the client, was added, along with V11 interior roof panels for aesthetics.
