The Inspection
An initial assessment was conducted for a comprehensive deck renovation and gable roof addition at a residential property. The project scope included the removal of an existing deck, installation of a new 320 sq ft Trex Transcend deck, and a 15' W x 16' L gable roof attached to the home.
The Process
The old deck was removed, and debris placed in a 15-yard dumpster. New footings were dug to 24 inches deep and poured with ready-mix concrete. The deck structure was built with Trex Transcend Carmel decking and hidden fasteners. Classic railing and balusters were added, along with fascia boards and 6"x6" posts for awning support. The gable roof was framed, trusses installed, and integrated with the existing roof, finished with architectural shingles, K-style gutters, and downspouts.
The Result
The completed project features a durable and aesthetically pleasing outdoor space, including a 320 sq ft Trex deck with a seamlessly integrated gable roof. The deck is adorned with classic railings and fascia boards, while the gable roof boasts white fascia trims and an open ceiling with visible trusses. The 3-season sunroom is enhanced with Eze-Breeze installations between railing posts, and an outdoor Java LED Ceiling Fan provides comfort. This renovation not only expands the living area but also elevates the home’s value with its high-quality materials and finishes.
