Building a strong and elegant Deck
The Inspection
The project commenced with a thorough assessment of the existing deck platform measuring 16′ in width and 12′ in length. The evaluation identified the need for removal due to deterioration and the necessity for structural upgrades to meet local building codes.
The Process
The existing deck was dismantled and debris removed. To install nine new 24" deep footings, part of the brick walkway was cut. Concrete was poured for a solid foundation. The frame used 2"x8" joists at 12" OC, covering 192 sq. ft., topped with Trex Enhance decking for durability and low maintenance. A 4'x3' grill platform was also added.
The Result
The completed project resulted in a robust and aesthetically pleasing deck platform at the rear of the house, significantly improving the outdoor living area. The use of high-quality materials and adherence to building standards ensured a long-lasting and reliable structure, ready for years of enjoyment.
