The Inspection
The project commenced with a thorough assessment of the designated area for the new deck, measuring approximately 317 sq. ft. The inspection confirmed the need for a well-structured platform that accommodates both aesthetic and functional requirements, including a designated storage area of 3’9” x 8’ and an HVAC exclusion zone of 4’ x 8’.
The Process
The construction used pressure-treated materials for durability and weather resistance. Framing included 2”x8” joists, 2”x10” beams, and 6”x6” posts, meeting code standards. Stable footings were set, with joists spaced 16” on center. The deck was finished with 5/4”x6” pressure-treated boards, securely fastened, while preserving the surrounding landscape fabric and pea gravel.
The Result
The finished deck is a functional, attractive addition that maximizes space and allows full door access. Built to code with quality materials, it enhances the outdoor area and offers a durable, long-lasting surface that complements the landscape.
