The Inspection
This Arlington home featured a deteriorating basement entrance with severely damaged concrete steps and failing wall surfaces. Our team began the restoration project by carefully demolishing the compromised concrete stairs and removing the old cap bricks along the entrance wall. We thoroughly grinded and removed the damaged concrete layers to ensure a clean, stable foundation before applying any new structural materials.
The Process
Our primary focus was to rebuild a safe, durable, and visually appealing entryway. To achieve this, we applied a fresh, reinforced layer of concrete around the entrance walls, finishing it with a smooth Ocean Blue stucco to perfectly match the home's aesthetic. We then installed a beautiful new brick cap ledger along the perimeter for a classic touch. For secure access, we built brand-new stairs utilizing robust cylinder blocks and freshly poured concrete, creating perfectly proportioned steps. Finally, we enhanced safety and curb appeal by installing a sleek black metal railing and a dedicated handrail, securely mounted on top of the new brickwork.
The Result
The completely transformed basement entrance now offers secure, easy access with its sturdy new concrete steps and highly durable stucco finish. The addition of the classic brick cap ledger and modern black metal railings completely revitalized the lower exterior of the property.
