The Inspection
We began this project in Washington D.C. by removing four existing windows to evaluate the master frames and rough openings. A thorough inspection is vital to guarantee that the new composite units will be perfectly anchored and insulated, preventing future leaks and maximizing the energy efficiency of the Andersen Fibrex technology.
The Process
Our team installed four Andersen 100 Series windows made of Fibrex, a sustainable composite material known for its strength and thermal performance. Finished in an elegant dark brown, these units were carefully integrated into the existing frames. We applied premium flashing tape and specialized silicone and latex caulking to ensure an airtight and watertight seal on both the interior and exterior. For a clean, maintenance-free finish, we added custom black aluminum covers around the exterior of each window, providing a sharp architectural contrast and superior protection against the elements.
The Result
This window replacement project successfully transformed the home’s exterior while significantly improving indoor comfort through advanced insulation. The combination of Andersen’s Fibrex composite and our precision installation ensures these windows will remain durable and beautiful for years to come.
